Since 1991, TiLE has provided a high quality annual exhibition, conference and networking opportunity for professionals in the leisure venues business - venues and attractions that entertain, inform and/or educate.
The abbreviation TiLE derives from its original full name - Technology (or subsequently Trends) in Leisure & Entertainment. It started in Maastricht in 1991 and has subsequently been in Strasbourg, London, Berlin, Maastricht and Lake Como, Italy. TiLE events provide the business forum for operators of attractions, venues and facilities that are used by the public in its leisure time. TiLE presents the latest in products and design; provides an opportunity for the leaders in the industry, from around the world, to meet; and shows how attractions can increase visitor numbers and revenue. There is now so much crossover between leisure and entertainment attractions; museums and other educational and cultural venues; and retail and corporate facilities that the dividing lines between individual sectors are blurring, with all areas able to learn from each other. The annual TiLE was a three-day conference and exhibition but, with current business conditions, the last annual event, a TiLEforum at Lake Como, was in 2007 and more one-day seminars (TiLEzones) have been held instead. There have been two TiLEzones in Poland (Warsaw and Lodz) and the 5th TiLEzone London will be on 25th February 2010 at the London Transport Museum. |
