All the campaigns created by Mar Dixon are to drive engagement and, in the perfect world, lead to greater foot flow. However, it also shows room for people to use social media to air feedback (pro and con). For example, on #MuseumSelfie day, it brought out those institutions that don’t allow photography or that are closed during the week. The campaign also provide a platform for those museums to say “Hey everyone, we’re on social media!”.Feedback can be positive and these campaigns allow for that to be shared and reacted to. Many museums set up Selfie Zones for the day and put up posters with the hashtag. All of this provides the platform for conversation and isn’t that what social media is about?
