Mark Sutton Vane ran the Laserium laser shows at Madame Tussauds and has been designing lighting ever since. Mark established the independent lighting consultancy Sutton Vane Associates in 1995. Mark wrote the lighting master plan and then designed the lighting for the London 2012 Olympic Park, he was then appointed the London 2012 Legacy Ambassador for Lighting. Sutton Vane Associates has lit retail environments, historic buildings, museums, exhibitions and leisure attractions all over the world. Mark designed the lighting for the Titanic in Belfast, HMS Victory, the National Museums Oman and Ireland, the Crown Jewels and lit St Paul’s Cathedral in red light for a one night event. Current projects include the largest cultural attraction in the world, in Kuwait. The practice places emphasis on the needs of the client and the users. Mark believes good lighting design marries these needs to public perceptions and the visitors’ experience.
