Biography

As a Creative Director at Event Communications, Paulo Pimentel is responsible for the ongoing development of the creative culture of the studio and the quality of creative work undertaken by the design team.

Paulo’s role primarily involves developing new client relationships and leading a multi-disciplinary team to design and deliver world class museums and visitor attractions. He is a qualified Architect with a career spanning over 20 years developing innovative solutions across a multitude of project types. He has extensive experience working with blue chip brands such as Ford, Shell, 3M and Diageo creating content led experiences that tell their stories in the most compelling ways.

Paulo has considerable experience with museums and visitor attractions including Guinness Storehouse, The Millennium Dome, The Natural History Museum and the National Museum of Qatar. In his previous Creative Director role at Imagination he developed proposals to transform a large historic monument into a visitor attraction in Brussels. Managing a stakeholder group, he developed the vision and technical brief for the OJEU tender and subsequently set up the multi-disciplinary team which responded to it. His final project at Imagination was a Cellar Tour and Tasting Experience for the historic Port brand Calem in the city of Porto. He is currently leading the creative team for the new International Rugby Experience in Limerick, Ireland.

Paulo is expert in the management of multi-stakeholder client groups. Previously he was an Associate Architect at BDP leading school design in the BSF/Academies frameworks, bidding and building in collaboration with contractors and taking the lead in collaborative client consultation and concept development including the Planning process.

He was proud to be a panel member judging the AJ100 Employer of the Year award in 2015 and 2016 and has won awards for his work with Royal Dutch Shell in Qatar. He has won include the Cannes Lion, Bronze Award Creative in August 2012 and the D&AD, Silver Pencil Award in June 2012.
